Please join us on Tuesday, October 9 as D.C.-dweller Dr. Peter Brookes regales us with tall tales of the urban angler with his talk: “Yes, Mr. Jefferson, believe it or not you can fish in the Tidal Basin!”
Thinking of himself as a “foreign policy geek by day and outdoor scribbler by night,” Dr. Brookes artfully combines a distinguished career in international affairs (e.g., “think tank” scholar, TV talking head, senior Pentagon official, CIA spy, naval officer, etc.) with his work as an outdoor columnist for the Northern Virginia Daily newspaper and Woods & Waters magazine.
He dreams of one day winning the Nobel Peace Prize by denuclearizing North Korea through fly fishing.
Join other Massanutten Trout Unlimited members for dinner at 5:30 at the Capital Ale House, Court Square, downtown Harrisonburg. Following dinner, we will meet upstairs in the Capital Ale House banquet room for Dr. Brookes presentation at 7:00 PM.
All meetings are FREE and open to the public.
